Mitla



Here is Mitla-The first pic shows the Catholic Church with Ruins in the foreground. Some of the stones for the church came from dismantling the Mixtec ceremonial platforms. The next shows the wonderful mosaic patterns all over the walls. Different patterns everywhere. Very mathematical. The last pic shows the remains of wall decoration from 900. Yes 900! And it was there up until 100 years ago. The unthinking imbeciles over the past decades scratched into it.

  1. mexico is so amazing. this reminds me of parts in mexico city where spanish churches were raised next to aztec ruins. looks like you are enjoying this art history study!
